PROGRESS IN THE TREATMENT OF DELAYED UNION AND NONUNION

The paper reviewed the progress in the treatment of delayed union and nonunion. The methods of curing the delayed union and nonunion are divided into two types. i.e. nonoperative and operative. The methods, the principle, the study of examination and the clinical apply of nonoperation are introduced briefly. The operation is to fix bone stumps firmly and to graft bone or no. The fixation is divided into external and internal fixation. Generally, the compression fixation is recommended. The bone transplantation is divided into free one and one with blood circulation. The latter is far better than the former.
