Effects of Propofol on Pulmaonary Circulation in Patients with Pulmonary Hypertension

Pulmonary artetial hypertension(PAH) is a kind of syndrome with poor progonosis,although novel drugs have been developed,the chance of survival remains poor.Many factors can cause pulmonary artery pressure to increase,such as hypoxia,operation stimulation,mediators of inflammation,and so on.It is very important to maintain circulation stabilization and prevent further increase of pulmonary artery pressure by choosing right anesthetics.Propofol,an intravenous anesthetic,is most common in clinical use.Here is to summarize the effects of propofol on pulmonary circulation in patients with PAH under operation to discuss the benefits of propofol in such cases.
