| Abstract: | Nine diastolic indices in 240 normal subjects were measured from simultaneous recordings of the electrocardiogram, phonocardiogram and apexcardiogram. Eleven physiological factors were considered as independent variables. All the data obtained was analysed on an IBM PC computer to derive multiple linear regression equations of every index. The results proved that heart rate and age had a highly significant correlation with diastolic indices. The other four factors, sex, body height, diastolic blood pressure and mean artery blood pressure also correlated. |
