Abstract: | Although marrow transplantation is the treatment of choice for chronic myelogenous leukemia, its full application is limited by donor availability. It now appears that the use of volunteer unrelated donors will be feasible and efficacious, albeit with a higher likelihood of complications. Thus, marrow grafting from unrelated donors should be considered in most instances where transplantation from a matched sibling would be contemplated. |
