| Abstract: | Experiments on 233 albino rats showed that large doses of ionizing radiation, causing marked leukopenia, increased the resistance of animals to pulmonary edema under the influence of adrenalin. This effect was particularly marked on the fourth day after irradiation. Relatively small doses (under 100R) and also irradiation separately of the head, thorax, or abdomen, on the other hand facilitated the development of pulmonary edema.Department of Pathological Physiology, Yaroslavl' Medical Institute.
