Abstract: | We conducted a case-control association study of the monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP1) gene -2518 polymorphism in 90 patients with major depressive disorder. Genotyping was performed by polymerase chain reaction methods. We found significant differences in genotype and allele frequencies. The present study suggests that this polymorphism may confer a susceptibility to major depressive disorder in the Korean population. |
