Clinical observation of moxibustion plus abdominal massage on breast cancer patients with constipation after chemotherapy

Objective To explore the effect of moxibustion plus abdominal massage on breast cancer patients after chemotherapy with constipation. Methods Eighty postoperative breast cancer patients were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, each of 40. Both groups received routine nursing, while the observation group was additionally provided with abdominal moxibustion and massage. One week after the intervention, both groups were evaluated using the constipation scoring system (CSS) and efficacy evaluation criteria. Results After the intervention, the CSS score of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group (t=-6.669, P<0.001), while the treating effect of the former was significantly better than the latter (Z=-5.394, P<0.001). Conclusion Abdominal massage combined with moxibustion can significantly relieve the postoperative constipation of patients with breast cancer safely and effectively, and is well accepted by patients.
