Evaluation of clinical application rationality of Xuebijing injection based upon weighted TOPSIS method

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the rationality of Xuebijing injection use at our hospital based upon weighted TOPSIS method to establish the evaluation criteria of Xuebijing injection by clinical pharmacists of traditional Chinese Medicine and provide references for its rational clinical use.METHODS Referring to the package insert of Xuebijing injection, the basic principles of clinical use of traditional Chinese medicine injection, the relevant guidelines, expert consensus and literature sources, the evaluation rules were formulated for the rational application of Xuebijing injection. The weighted TOPSIS method was employed for evaluating a total of 266 archived medical records of Xuebijing injection at our hospital from January to December 2020.RESULTS Among 266 files, the lowest evaluation score was combination medication(4.51%) and the highest evaluation scores were incompatibility(100%) and adverse reaction and treatment (100%). There were 3 cases (1.13%) with a relative proximity degree of >90%, 183 cases (68.79%) with a relative proximity degree of 80%-90%, 60 cases (22.56%) with a relative proximity degree of 70%-80%, 8 cases (3.01%) with a relative proximity degree of 60%-70% and 12 cases (4.51%) with a relative proximity degree of <60%.CONCLUSION The evaluation method for the rationality of Xuebijing injection has been established based upon weighted TOPSIS method. Combining multiple evaluation parameters, it has a strong operability and the evaluation results are both reliable and intuitive. It provides a methodological tool for pre-prescription reviews and further improving the quality control of clinical rational use of Chinese medicine injection.
