Abstract:Ischemic cerebrovascular disease (ICVD) is a common disease in clinical diseases,accounting for more than 70% of cerebrovascular diseases. The number of glial cells in the nervous system is the largest,far more than neurons. The mitochondrial function of astrocytes is impaired,resulting in problems in the survival and normal physiological function of neurons. Connexin is the key protein to perform this function. Connexin constitutes the gap junction channel and plays an important role in the pathological process.This article reviews the progress of the protective effect of gap junction protein 43 of astrocyte on cerebral ischemia.
