Advances in clinical application of topical timolol in dermatology

Timolol is an effective non selective β receptor blocker, which can result in vasoconstriction and promote wound repair. Timolol has not only become the first line treatment of superficial infantile hemangioma but also has shown a broad prospect of application in chronic ulcers and other vascular skin diseases with a good cosmetic effect in recent years. This article reviews the progress of its clinical application in dermatology and to provide new ideas and option for the treatment of dermatosis.
