Abstract: | Summary.— Thirty-three patients with psoriasis applied retinoic acid ointment and betamethasone 17-valerate ointment to lesions on I side of their body, and a placebo ointment and identical betamethasone 17-valerate ointment to symmetrical lesions on the opposite side. Objective assessment of the treated areas showed a significant superiority of the retinoic acid and steroid over the placebo and steroid combination. The mode of action of retinoic acid in psoriasis is discussed. |
