Abstract:Objective To analyze the usage of antimicrobials in perioperative patients on breast surgery and to evaluate the rationality of use. Methods Retrospective analysis of the use of antibacterial in 335 patients discharged from the breast surgery in the hospital during the period January 2010-December 2010 was made. Results 92.24% patients received antimicrobials during perioperative period. The proportion using the first generation cephalosporins and quinolones antimicrobials was high. The first generation cephalosporins was the most commonly used drug (89.76%). The rate of two combined administration of antimicrobials was 1.62%. The use time of antimicrobials was irrational with a high rate. Reasonable opportunity to prevent drug use was 9.71%, Inappropriate use was common with continuation and route of administration of antibiotics. Conclusion The prophylactic application of antimicrobials for perioperative period on the breast surgery has some unreasonable phe- nomenon. So the effective surveillance management mechanism should be established.
