Abstract: | Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) is a major cause of serious infections in childhood. New vaccines have been developed which are effective in invoking immunity against this organism when administered to children of all ages, including young infants. Their widespread introduction in the UK should lead to a dramatic decline in the incidence of Hib disease. |
