Abstract:Gustatory sweating (or chorda tympani syndrome) in the submandibular region is a rare complication of cervical surgery. We report a 66-year-old patient who had been referred for the management of a squamous cell carcinoma of the mobile tongue. She was treated by bilateral neck dissection and bilateral resection of the submandibular glands. Bilateral gustatory sweating in the submandibular region developed 10 years later and was successfully treated with bilateral injections of botulinum toxin type A.
