Abstract: | Electromagnetic interference with implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD) can cause inappropriate delivery of therapies or temporary inhibition of ICD functions. The presented case describes electromagnetic interference between a washing machine and an ICD resulting in an inappropriate discharge of the device due to false detection of ventricular fibrillation. |
