Abstract: | Environmental factors have a huge impact on the development of gynaecological cancers. Avoidance of tobacco and of unsafe sex, adherence to a balanced diet rich in fruit and vegetables, moderate exercise and use of the oral contraceptive will all substantially reduce a woman’s risk. Regular Pap smear screening is very protective against the subsequent development of cancer of the cervix but unfortunately, screening tests for endometrial and ovarian cancers are currently not available. |
