The Impact of High Incidence of 100 Million Diabetes on the Blood Glucose Testing Market

The blood glucose testing products have been commercialized for about 20 years in China and still increasing in 15~20% annually since the early of 2000s.But the issues of technology and production volume are very low compared with the counter part of western companies.The total amount of production from local companies yearly is only 30% of annual output of a single world class company and 70% of domestic market share is controlled by the importers.This paper describes the current situation of the RD and production of blood glucose testing products and try to give the answer how the local players can extricate themselves from the predicament.The opportunities and challenges accompany with 100 million local diabetes are also discussed.
