| Abstract: | Fixation of the atlantoaxial joint using transarticular screws is a safe and effective means of stabilizing the C1–C2 joint.It is particularly useful when the posterior arch of C1 is cartilaginous or hypoplastic. Improvement in imaging techniques has contributed to its increasing safety. |
