Clinical Study on Foot Bath of Tougu Tongmai Prescription for ArteriosclerosisObliterans of Lower Extremity

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of foot bath of Tougu Tongmai prescription on arteriosclerosis obliterans of lower extremity. Methods:A total of 63 patients with arteriosclerosis obliterans of lower extremity were selected and divided into the control group(31 cases) and the treatment group(32 cases) according to random number table method.The control group was given routine nursing measures like diet and exercise guidance and foot nursing based on controlling blood sugar, blood lipids and blood pressure. The treatment group was additionally given foot bath of Tougu Tongmai prescription based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups received treatment for 14 days. The clinical effect,symptom scores and ankle-brachial index before and after treatment were compared between the two groups, and the incidence of adverse reactions was recorded. Results:The total effective rate was 93.75% in the treatment group,higher than that of 74.19% in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment,scores of skin temperature sensation,skin color,pain,intermittent claudication distance, intermittent claudication remission time and the total score were all decreased when compared with those before treatment in the two groups(P<0.05). The scores of the above symptoms and the total score in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment,the levels of ankle-brachial index in both groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the one in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). No adverse reactions occurred in the two groups. Conclusion:Foot bath of Tougu Tongmai prescription for arteriosclerosis obliterans of lower extremity,can effectively improve the clinical symptoms and clinical effect.
