Effect of family follow-up nursing for the elderly patients with bedridden pneumonia

Objective To explore the effect of family follow-up nursing for the elderly patients with bedridden pneumonia. Methods From January 2018 to October 2018, 70 patients in Anhui Province Hospital with bedridden pneumonia were divided into two groups. The patients in control group (n=35) were treated with routine nursing interventions. And the patients in study group (n=35) were treated with family follow-up nursing intervention. The rehabilitation compliance, prognosis and nursing satisfaction of the elderly patients with bedridden pneumonia were respectively compared between the two groups after 3 months after discharge. Results The rehabilitation compliance of the study group was higher than that of the control group 3 months after discharge (P<0.05). The incidence rates of recurrence, muscle atrophy, constipation, lower extremity venous thrombosis, pressure ulcers, falling pneumonia and urinary tract infection in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The satisfaction of the patients in the study group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusions In the nursing process of elderly patients with bedridden pneumonia, the use of family follow-up nursing intervention can improve the prognosis and satisfaction of patients, which is worthy of application.
