Bulimia nervosa in eleven sets of twins: A clinical report

Eleven sets of twins (6 monozygotic and 5 dizygotic, including one pair who was adopted away and another who was brought up in a separate foster home) in which the proband had bulimia nervosa were described. The concordance rate among the monozygotic twins was 33% and among the dizygotic twins was 0%. The possible genetic predisposition mechanisms were discussed.
