Abstract: | Purpose: To study the antimutagenicity of Oridonin Methods: Ames test and micronucleus assay of polychromatic erythrocytes in mice bone marrow were used. Results: Oridonin could evidently inhibit the reverse mutation on Salmonella typhimuriun strains TA98 and TA100 without S9mix. The rates of maximum inhibition were 89.1% and 80.2% respectively. In addition, Oridonin could significantly reduce micronucleus frequencies induced by cyclophosphamide (P<0.01). Conclusion: Oridonin has significant antimutagenic effect. |
