Abstract: | Any suspicion of lumino-abdominal tumour growth should be confirmed or invalidated by contrast medium examination. The authors of this paper, deviating from the generally accepted diagnostic strategies, used computed tomography and succeeded in recording gastrointestinal tumours from 25 patients. High-accuracy organ localisation of palpable intestinal tumours proved to be possible by means of computed tomography. Hence, primary diagnostic use of CT appears to be justified in exceptional cases. |
