铁的生物特性在神经变性疾病中的作用

摘    要:铁是生命过程必需的,但是铁本身的化学特性决定了它的潜在生物毒性.游离铁可通过Fenton反应产生自由基引起细胞凋亡或坏死.中枢神经系统缺乏天然的抗氧化物谷胱甘肽,且铁是脑中最丰富的过渡金属,所以铁的代谢异常很可能引起中枢神经系统病变.本文回顾了近几年的研究报道,主要阐述铁的生物特性在中枢神经变性疾病中的作用.

Abstract:Iron is a necessity in life; however, iron chemical characteristics itself determine its potential biological toxicity. Free iron can generate free radicals through Fenton reaction to induce cellular apoptosis or necrosis. The abnormal metabolism of iron may possibly induce the pathological changes in central nervous system(CNS) because of the deficiency of glutathione, a natural anti-oxygen substance in CNS, and moreover, the iron is the most abundant transient metal in the brain. Recent researches were reviewed in this study to expatiate the role of iron biological characteristics in neural degeneration diseases.
