Abstract: | A survey of postoperative analgesia in 195 anaesthetic departments in England and Wales was undertaken. The results showed that 64% of respondents were dissatisfied or very dissatisfied with the present situation. Large differences were demonstrated between what was regarded as the safest technique and what would form the ideal management of postoperative pain. |
