Abstract:Objective To investigate the efficacy of Kangfuxin Solution on severe oral mucositis induced by radiotherapy in patients with head and neck cancer and its protective effect on salivary glands.Methods From October 2016 to October 2019,116 patients with head and neck tumors who completed radical radiotherapy and developed severe radiation oral mucositis at the Central Hospital of Edong Medical Group were selected.All patients were divided into treatments according to the random number table method.Group and control group,58 cases in each group.On the basis of conventional treatment,the treatment group was given Kangfuxin Solution,10 ml/time,3 times/d;the control group was given compound chlorhexidine gargle 10~20 ml,2 times/d.Saliva flow rate and oral p H value were measured before treatment,on 7 thd and14 thd of treatment respectively,and saliva amylase(AMS)and epidermal growth factor(EGF)levels were detected by ELISA.The treatment efficacy,oral mucosal healing time and the incidence of oral fungal infections were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the saliva flow rate and oral p H value of the two groups of patients showed an increasing trend(P<0.01);and after treatment,the saliva flow rate and oral p H value of the treatment group were significantly higher than those of the control group.The differences were statistically significant(P<0.01).After treatment,the levels of AMS and EGF in the two groups showed an increasing trend(P<0.01);and after treatment,the levels of AMS and EGF in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group during the same period(P<0.01).After treatment,the oral mucosal healing time of the treatment group was better than that of the control group,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(t=6.167,P<0.01).On the 7 th day of treatment,there were 7 cases of oral fungal infection in the treatment group and 16 cases in the control group.The incidence of oral fungal infection in the treatment group was 12.07%and that of the control group was 27.59%.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(χ2=4.393,P<0.05).After treatment,the total effective rate in the treatment group was 89.66%(52/58),and the total effective rate in the control group was 68.97%(40/58).The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(χ2=7.565,P=0.006).Conclusion Kangfuxin Solution can improve the therapeutic effect on severe oral mucositis caused by radiotherapy,promote the healing of damaged oral mucosa,and reduce the incidence rate of oral fungal infection.The mechanism may be related to promoting the secretion of AMS and EGF,and improving saliva flow rate and oral p H value.
