Clinical Study of Electroacupuncture(EA)on the Prevention of Postsurgical Gastroparesis Syndrome after Pancreaticoduodenectomy

Objective To observe the clinical effect of electroacupuncture in preventing gastroparesis syndrome after pancreaticoduodenectomy.Methods A total of 80 inpatients who were required to undergo pancreaticoduodenectomy in the Pancreas Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from May to October 2016 were selected.After all cases passed the preliminary screening,they were randomized according to the random number table method.And divided into two groups,each with 40 cases.The control group began to take routine treatments such as fluid rehydration,anti-infection,and intravenous nutrition on the first day after surgery.The treatment group was treated with electroacupuncture on the basis of the control group.The incidence of postoperative gastroparesis syndrome,the first postoperative exhaust,defecation time and postoperative abdominal pain visual analogue scale(Visual Analogue Scale,VAS)score were compared between the two groups.Results The incidence of postoperative gastroparesis syndrome in the treatment group was 5%(2/40),the incidence of postoperative gastroparesis syndrome in the control group was 25%(10/40),and the incidence of postoperative gastroparesis syndrome in the treatment group significantly lower than the control group,the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The time of first exhaust after operation and the time of first defecation after operation were significantly shorter in the treatment group than in the control group,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05,P<0.01).The VAS scores of the two groups of patients after treatment decreased compared with those before treatment(P<0.05,P<0.01);and the VAS scores of abdominal pain in the treatment group were significantly lower than those of the control group after 2 to 6 days of treatment,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.01),the treatment effect of the treatment group is better than that of the control group.Conclusion Electroacupuncture has a good preventive effect on gastroparesis syndrome after pancreaticoduodenectomy and it can shorten the time of postoperative exhaust and defecation,promote the recovery of postoperative gastrointestinal function and it can also reduce the abdominal pain after operation and improve the quality of life and promote rapid recovery after surgery.
