Abstract: | Levator aponeurosis surgery was used to treat 113 upper eyelids with acquired ptosis. Ninety-five percent of the eyelids were corrected to within 1 mm of the desired result. The range of eyelift lift was 1 to 5.5 mm. Follow-up period for these patients was 6 months to 7 years. Local anesthesia is required for this technique since the lid height is determined by asking the patient to look in various fields of gaze. Levator function of at least 8 mm should be present if more than 1 mm of ptosis needs to be corrected. |
