Abstract: | A germicidal detergent for dish-washing has been prepared and investigated n the laboratory and in the field, The preparation consists of chlorine comipound,anion detergent and other additives, It is packed in packets about 14 g each and one packet of the preparation yields 200 ppm available chlorine when disaolved in 6,000 ml warm water. The solution formed could be used to wash 60 dishes and has been proved to have excellent bactericidal effect against the spores of Bacillus cereus in addition to thorough clearance of contaminated fat droplets. The preparation has been stored under room temperature for one year with no significant loss of available chlorine, It can be used for dish-washing on small ships with the purpose of prophylaxis of enteric infections and would be accepted for other advantages such as cheapness, convcnience in use and stability in storage. |
