Abstract:Objective To study the pathomorphological characteristics of allied Hirschsprung's dis ease(allied HD)by using neuron specific enolose (NSE)and S-100protein immunohistochemical stain ing techniques,in order to improve the early diagnosis rates. Methods 97cases with HD were in cluded in this study, the morphological and numerical change of the neurone and ganglion cell lesions were observed by routine HE staining, and compared with the normal controls.NSE and S-100pro-tein immunohistochemical staining were carried out in21cases.Results The number of the neurone and ganglion cell of allied HD was significantly higher than those in the normal control or HD group(P<0.01).Conclusions The diagnosis of allied HD is depended mainly on its pathologic characteris-tics.In combination of NSE and S-100protein immunohistochemical markers staining and routine HE stain ing have greatly helpful to promote a definite diagnosis.
