A型肉毒素注射治疗咬肌肥大

目的：探讨下颌角咬肌肥大的非手术治疗方法。方法：应用A型肉毒素（BTA）注射到肥大的咬肌内使咬肌萎缩变小来改善面部轮廓形态，如果同时伴有下颌骨的骨质增生，可在注射内毒素之前或之后行手术治疗切除增生的下颌骨。结果：BTA局部注射治疗单纯咬肌肥大6例，结合下颌角骨切除术5例，9例为单次注射，2例为2次注射完成治疗，效果满意，经6个月－13个月随访，疗效稳定，未见复发。结论：A型肉毒素局部注射治疗咬肌肥大方法简便，安全有效，远期效果尚需进一步观察。

TYPE A BOTULINUM TOXIN FOR TREATMENT OF HYPERTROPHY OF THE MASSETER

Objectives : To investigate a new treatment of hypertrophy of masseter on the purpose of avoiding operation. Methods: Injecting the botulinum toxin type A into the hypertrophied masseter to make it atrophy. If there is hypertrophy of mandible, bone excision can be done before or after botulinum toxin injection. Results: 11 cases of masseter hypertrophy were cured by botulinum toxin injection of which 5 combined with bone excision. After following up of 6 - 13 months, we found no recurrence. Conclusion: Botulinum toxin injection is a simple, effective method for hypertrophy of masseter. Long time results should be viewed for a following up of a longer time
