Spine surgery with computer assisted technology

The application of computer-assisted technology in spine surgery is a hot topic in recent years. As spine surgery is usually highly risky, an accurate and convenient technique is a dream of very spine surgeon. The technique of computer-assisted surgery may fulfill our dreams. Its application in spine surgery reported in journals included thoracic and lumbar pedicle screw insertion and trans-articular screw fixation of C1/2. Because the internal fixation has become more and more important in spinal surgery, this paper focuses therefore on the pedicle screw placement in spinal surgery.
