Expression and significance of endothelin-1 and hypoxia inducible factor -1 in gastric mucosa of patients with portal hypertensive gastropathy

Objective To discuss the expression of endothelin-1(ET-1)and hypoxia inducible factor-1(HIF-1)in gastric mucosa of portal hypertensive gastropathy(PHG)patients,and the internal relations between them,to provide theoretical proof for the pathogenesis of PHG.Methods Patients were selected and divided into PHG(60 cases),PHT without PHG(30 cases),and healthy controls(20 cases)from November 2010 to June 2011.The PHG group was categoried as moderate and severe.Detected the level of ET-1 protein and HIF-1 protein in gastric mucosa by immunohistochemical methods.Results Compared with healthy control group,ET-1,HIF-1 in the PHT without PHG group and PHG group were increased,there were significant difference(P<0.05).The expression of ET-1in the PHG of severe was more than in the PHG of moderate,there was no significant difference(P>0.05).The expression of HIF-1 in the PHG of severe was more than in the PHG of moderate,there was significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion ET-1,HIF-1 may be involved in the pathogenesis of PHG,and damaged to the gastric pathology.
