Abstract: | An analysis is made of the Regimen of Salerno, the most importantmedieval Western healthy life style program. The discussionso far about its origins is summarized, its roots in humoralpathology investigated and its significance and functioninganalyzed by using different con-temporary scientific models(positivistic medicine, holism, and sociological theories abouttransformations of reality). A proposal for further scientificresearch has been formulated. |
