| Abstract: | In order to avoid the damages of the arteries during operation of the maxillary nerve , its route and proximity to the maxillary nerve were studied on 16 adult cadavers. The lateral wall of the maxillary sinus, the lateral and lower wall of the orbit and the posterior wall of the ptery-gopalatine fossa were excised. The length, width and thickness of each part of the maxillary nerve in the cranium, pterygopalatine fossa, inferior orbital fissure, inferior orbital groove and inferior orbital canal were measured. Our results provide a morphological basis for the operation of the maxillary nerve. |
