Abstract:The occurrence and development of eye diseases are related to the abnormal development and dysfunction of the eye tissues, and the activation of the relevant signaling pathways plays an important role in the occurrence and development of eye diseases. PI3K/Akt signaling pathway (phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase/protein kinase B signaling pathway) is widely distributed in various kinds of cells, and is an important signal transduction pathway involved in cell growth, proliferation, differentiation and regulation. It has been found that the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway is abnormally activated in cataract, diabetic retinopathy and other eye diseases, regulating the occurrence and development of eye diseases. We will give a briefly review on the regulatory role of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in the occurrence and development of various eye diseases in this paper.
