Abstract: | Normal human red cells were centrifugally separated according to age by discontinuous density gradient of Percoll. Reduced glutathione (GSH), GSH stability and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) activity in fractionated red cells decreased with age, while oxidized glutathione (GSSG) and methemoglobin (MetHb) increased with age. |
