Progress of Astrocyte Activation and Traumatic Brain Injury Research

ABSTRACTAs the most widespread cells in central nervous system, glial cells have all kinds of function such as support, protection, nutrition, myelination and repair. As one kind of gilal cells, astrocytes have been conifrmed that they play an important role in traumatic brain injury and neural degenerative diseases. The pathological process of astrocyte reactivation after brain injury and its underlying cellular and molecular mechanism were brielfy introduced.
