The rehabilitation effect of mirror visual feedback therapy combined with sandplay in the treatment of children with autism spectrum disorder

Objective To observe the rehabilitation effect of mirror visual feedback therapy combined with sandplay in the treatment of children with autism spectrum disorder(ASD).Methods Fifty children with ASD in our hospital from March 2019 to September 2020 were selected.They were divided into a control group and an observation group according to thesimple random method,25 in each group.The control group received sandplay therapy,and the observation group received mirror visual feedback therapy combined with sandplay therapy.The curative effect,improvement time,Conners parent symptom questionnaire(PSQ)and autism treatment assessment scale(ATEC)scores,as well as adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05).After 28 weeks of treatment,thescores of learning problems,impulsive hyperactivity,psychosomatic problems,conduct problems,anxietyhyperactivity index sense/cognition/consciousness,social,speech/language/communication,health/body/behavior in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The improvement time of the control group was longer than that of the observation group,and there were no adverse events in both groups.Conclusion Mirror visual feedback therapy combined with sandplay can effectively improve the rehabilitation effect of ASD children,promote their recovery,and effectively improve the degree of autism.
