Abstract:Primary appendiceal malignancy metastatic to the ovaries is a condition that may mimic advanced stage ovarian cancer. This condition is rarely diagnosed preoperatively. A 52-year-old woman referred to our institution for presumed advanced stage of ovarian cancer was found to have primary appendiceal adenocarcinoma metastatic to ovaries at laparotomy. We describe the clinical course of the patient. It is important for the gynecologist-oncologist to include tumors of the appendix into the differential diagnosis of any case of ovarian tumor.
