Indirect Fluorescent Antibody Test for Neurocysticercosis in Patients with Symptoms of Headache and Epilepsy

头痛和癫痫是神经系统疾病的常见症状，为了调查头痛和癫痫症状与神经系统囊虫病的关系，我们应用间接荧光抗体试验，对具有头痛和／或癫痫症状的病人进行囊虫抗体检测，血清抗体总阳性率为３７％，其中单独具有头痛症状者血清抗体阳性率为４１．２％，与囊虫病密切相关（Ｐ＝０．００２），有癫痫症状者血清抗体阳性率亦较高，但无统计学意义。结果提示，在河南医科大学神经内科门诊病人中，具有头痛症状的病人血清囊虫抗体阳性占有较高比例。有排孕节史和皮下结节的患者其血清阳性率亦较高

Indirect Fluorescent Antibody Test for Neurocysticercosis in Patients with Symptoms of Headache and Epilepsy

Headache and epilepsy are common symptoms in diseases of nervous system. To observe the relationship between symptoms of headache and/or epilepsy and neurocysticercosis, we used the indiret fluorescent antibody test (IFAT) to detect seropositive cases. The patients with symptoms of headache and/or epilepsy showed an overall positive rate of 37% in IFAT; while cases merely with symptom of headache revealed a positive rate of 41 2%, exhibiting close correlation to suspected cysticercosis (P=0 002). A relative high proportion of patients with epilepsy was seropositive, but no statistic significance was shown. The results indicated that a large proportion of cases with signs and symptoms of headache were positive in IFAT for neurocysticercosis as analysed from the data obtained at the Department of Neurology, Henan Medical University. Other factors closely related to IFAT positivity were history of expelling proglottides and existence of subcutaneous nodules.
