Research into Notch Signal Pathway and Inflammation Related Pathogenesis of Rheumatic Heart Disease

Rheumatic valvulitis is a type of rheumatic heart disease that is characterized by repeated and lengthy episodes. An impor- tant factor in the development and occurrence of rheumatic heart disease is inflammation. Recent studies have found that the Notch signaling pathway is associated with congenital heart disease, proliferation of lymphocytes and inflammatory processes. The connection between the Notch signaling pathway, cardiac events and itfflammation, may indicate that the Notch signaling pathway has a role in the occurrence and development of rheumatic heart disease.
