Discussion on category, characteristic, infection mechanism and application of pathogenic yeasts

Yeasts, unicellular type of fungi, belong to a large group of Microbiology and are ubiquitous in nature. A majority of yeasts are beneficial to human beings. However, in reeent studies, it was showen that eases on infection disease caused by yeasts were rising lastly and it was very diffieuh to heal the diseases. Therefore, research on pathogenic yeasts has become a hot topie in life seienee fields. In this paper, we dis- cussed the category, distribution, eharaeteristie, infeefion mechanism and their application in biocontrol of pathogenie yeasts. In addition, the diseases eaused by the pathogenic yeasts, the corresponding symptoms, the problems on how to prevent and treat the diseases were also discussed. The discussion in the paper will increase our understanding of the pathogenie yeasts.
