Effect of modified Taohong Siwu decoction combined with Wuling powder on early joint knee swelling,pain and joint function rehabilitation after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction

Objective:To discuss the effect of modified Taohong Siwu decoction combined with Wuling powder on early joint knee swelling,pain and joint function rehabilitation after anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)reconstruction.Methods:A total of 98 patients after ACL reconstruction were selected as subjects.They were divided into control group(n=49)and observation group(n=49)by random number method.The control group was given routine rehabilitation treatment.On this basis,the observation group was treated with modified Taohong Siwu decoction and Wuling powder.The clinical effects,swelling degree,muscle atrophy degree,knee joint activity,pain(VAS)scores,knee function(Lysholm)scores,inflammatory factors [Interleukin-6(IL-6),Interleukin-8(IL-8),Tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)] and immune function in the two groups were compared.Results:The effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(91.84% vs.75.51%)(P<0.05).After treatment,the swelling degree,muscle atrophy degree,VAS scores and levels of IL-6,IL-8,TNF-α and CD8⁺ were reduced,knee joint activity,Lysholm scores,CD3⁺,CD4⁺ and CD4⁺/CD8⁺ were increased in the two groups(P<0.05).Besides,the swelling degree,muscle atrophy degree,VAS scores and levels of IL-6,IL-8,TNF-α and CD8⁺ in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group,knee joint activity,Lysholm scores,CD3⁺,CD4⁺ and CD4⁺/CD8⁺ were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Treatment with modified Taohong Siwu decoction combined with Wuling powder can improve early joint knee swelling,pain and joint activity after ACL reconstruction while lowering the levels of inflammatory factors,improving immune function,and promoting knee function rehabilitation.
