The status of resilience and its influencing factors in patients with colorectal cancer

Objective: To investigate the status of resilience and its influencing factors in patients with colorectal cancer. Methods: Totally 166 hospitalized patients with colorectal cancer collected by convenience sampling method were investigated by self-designed general information questionnaire and the Chinese version of the resilience scale (CD-RISC). Logistic regression model was used to analyze the independent influencing factors of resilience level of the patients. Results: The mean score of total resilience level was 53.11±14.57, and the scores for each dimension were as follows: tenacity 26.93±8.63, strength 17.23±4.83, optimism 8.93±2.96.Multiple linear regression model showed that gender, educational level, occupation, average monthly incomes, clinic opathologic stage and colostomy were independent influencing factors(P＜0.05). Conclusion: The resilience level of the colorectal cancer patients is still low. Medical staff should attach great importance to the assessment of the psychological status，and make effective and feasible nursing measures to improve the resilience level of patients.
