Anionic copolymerization of acrolein with aldehydes

Unsaturated copolyacetals have been prepared by anionic copolymerization of acrolein with aldehydes, such as, acetaldehyde, benzaldehyde, propionaldehyde, pivaldehyde and others. The dependence of the structure of the copolymers on the dielectric constant of the solvent, and on the temperature, the aldehyde, the catalyst and the extension of the reaction has been studied.
