Abstract: | Granulysin is a novel cationic molecule present in the granules of cytotoxic T lymphocytes and natural killer cells. Cytotoxic T lymphocytes have long been associated with graft destruction in transplant rejection. Recent studies implicate granulysin in cell-mediated cytotoxicity, chemoattraction, immune activation and as a potential diagnostic biomarker for transplant rejection. |
