Functional pneumectomy by a saccular aneurysm of the aortic root

Abstract:This case report describes a patient with severe stenosis of the right pulmonary artery due to an expanding arteriosclerotic aneurysm of the ascending aorta. The clinical data and the lung perfusion ventilation scintigrams supported the diagnosis of pulmonary embolism, and initially the patient was treated accordingly.
