The comparative study between laparoscopic surgery and open surgery in acute peritonitis

Objective:To evaluate the clinical effect of laparoscopic surgery and open surgery in acute peritonitis.Methods:The clinical data was retrospectively analyzed from 322 patients of acute peritonitis who underwent laparoscopic surgery and 253 patients who underwent open surgery from Jan.2005 to Jan.2011.The operating time,postoperative off-bed time,exhaust time,the hospital stay,analgesic use,and cases of adhesive intestinal obstruction were comparatively analyzed.Results:No complications such as organ injury occurred in either group.2 cases in the laparoscopic group were converted to open surgery due to bowel resection.There was statistical difference in the off-bed time,decannulation time,the hospital stay,analgesic use,adhesive intestinal obstruction incidence between the two groups(P<0.05 or P<0.01).There was no statistical difference in the operating time(P>0.05).Conclusions:Laparoscopic surgery for acute peritonitis has advantages of less trauma,faster recovery,shorter hospital stay and better asmetic result,which is worth popularization.
