Abstract: | Although the clinical diagnosis of gallstones is especially accurate today, occasionally there are poor results after cholecystectomy for stones. The commonest causes of dissatisfaction are (1) attributing symptoms actually due to other conditions to the gallbladder and (2) overlooking the existence of stones in the common duct. Routine operative cholangiography offers an efficient means of detecting common duct stones. |
